Privacy and Security Policy

General Collection of Information

Throughout Maestro SIS, a variety of various types of user data and information is collected. For instance, we will collect and store the information you submit to when you register your account at your learning institution through Maestro SIS: your email address, site tracking data on the actions you take when you visit Maestro SIS, and most other information that you submit when you create an account in Maestro SIS. The information collected is used solely to provide you access to applying for admission to a learning institution and thereafter to access your personal academic data and communications once you become a student. Nothing herein is shared with or sold to any other organization for any reason at all, commercial or otherwise.

Possible Exceptions

While we promise to never share or sell your data to other organizations, there are a few instances where we may have to provide it to other entities. The only situations where we will share your personal information are under the following, very limited circumstances:

  • When you have given us express permission to only share your information with another third party.
  • When necessary to share your information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or as otherwise required by law.

The Types of Information We Collect

Registration and Account Information

When you sign up for Maestro SIS, the minimum information we collect from you is your name, email address, and password for logging in. During registration, you may also provide to us your address, phone number, date of birth, some personal records, and billing information like credit card numbers. While some of this information is stored in our databases, no credit card information is ever saved, and only the appropriate parties of your school will have access to the information they need relative to your learning experience, in according with the law. For example, a teacher in the school who is not your teacher, will not be able to see your academic records. Your science teacher will not be able to access your math grades, and vice versa. Only a “person of interest” (such as your teacher, and your academic coach or advisor, or your principal) will have access to your academic information. Your teachers will not have access to your health or financial records, and likewise a nurse will not have access to your academic records. Only a designated health office will be able to see your health records, although a person in charge of records will know whether or not they have been submitted, as required by law. Only persons in charge of financial aid will be able to see your financial information, and no one at BocaVox will ever be able to see your credit card information.

Once you have an account and fill out an application, your personal front end portal will only be accessible with your login credentials (or if under the age of 18, your parents or guardian will have their own credentials for access), so you should not share your login credentials with anyone. BocaVox will never share any of your information, distribute it, or sell it for any reason.

We maintain the IP address of where a person logs in from, as a security measure, so that we can track who is accessing Maestro SIS, if necessary.

Usage and Tracking Data

As you browse and use Maestro SIS, we also collect a variety of usage data, such as the pages you browse, how long you stay on them, which site you came from, and other objective data on how you interact with the site. While Maestro SIS attaches your personally identifiable information to this tracking data that is stored in our own databases, no personally identifiable information is ever stored or shared with any third party site tracking service, such as Google Analytics.

Cookies

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site’s computers and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies are required to use the Maestro Academy service, and although we only use cookies to maintain current session information (similar to the tracking and user data referenced in the above section), we never use permanent cookies. For instance, you are required to sign in to Maestro SIS after a certain period of time has elapsed to protect you against others accidentally accessing your account contents.

We store this information to provide to you with service, so that you and the appropriate parties at your learning institution can access everything you save, as needed.
