Missouri Department of Education

In 2007, after conducting a detailed bid process over a period of several months, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) chose Maestro to run their state-wide program, the Missouri Online Virtual Instruction Program (MoVIP), which currently provides access to over ten thousand public, private and home schooled students in the state of Missouri.

Implemented in record time (less than 2 months), a customized version of Maestro enabled DESE to keep track of state funding, enrollments, teacher/student interaction, student progress, etc. The flexibility and wealth of data available on Maestro gave DESE an important reporting tool to assess MoVIP's success.
In Dec 2008, when MoVip reissued the bid, BocaVox bid on its own and was honored that MaestroSIS was again selected as the student information system of choice. MoVip 2009 is currently being run by DESE, eMINTS, and Remote Learner for support of Moodle.

Maestro SIS enables DESE to operate on a very lean staff, offering unprecedented access to the local school counselors (or site facilitators), who can enroll and withdraw their students, see how they are progressing, track the communications between instructors and students, filter and sort lists according to multiple criteria and much more. Currently, more than 500 districts are setup to use the Maestro SIS.

Maestro also offers access to students and guardians, so that they can also track their progress and make sure they stay on pace, see information about their courses and teachers, request changes and much more.
