NMT BENEFITS

  • Navigate through network elements and topology using intuitive, user-friendly graphical interfaces
  • Get access to all sorts of performance data such as traffic, number of calls, overflow calls, in flexible report formats
  • Retrieve and export information about network utilization, usage thresholds and network behavior in elegant and comprehensive reports
  • Gather actionable information that will help reduce network infrastructure in places where too much capacity is deployed, and increase network infrastructure in places where capacity is needed
  • Validate configuration data for network equipment thru checks and inconsistent data flags, such as over utilized facilities and missing Trunk Groups
  • Visualize end-to-end network resources being used by a particular service or flow

NMT

Network Monitoring Tool

NMT provides the means necessary to track and analyze network utilization, particularly in terms of Key Performance Indicators and transport infrastructure, coupling the logical layer (trunk groups, overflows) to the physical layer (fibers, network elements) of the network.

Parameters such as utilization thresholds and per-minute overflow costs can be configured on an individual basis, and several reports can be easily selected and performed with near-real-time data.

NMT provides detailed views and reports on Network Topology, Facility and Circuit configuration, Network Resource Utilization and Network Cost analysis.

On NMT main window, the user can find a graphical visualization of the network, where he can tweak the display by zooming in, zooming out, panning, increasing thickness of lines, filtering by Element type or by Service, and so on. In the lower portion of the screen, the user will find information about the selected Node, Link, Facility and Trunk Groups.

By clicking on the list panels the user can select, filter and navigate through the network elements. This way, the user can quickly find information such as all circuits going thru a particular Node, the cost and provider for a particular facility, the capacity in a link, the number of DS0s in a Trunk Groups and much more.

By selecting a Node, a Link, a Facility or even a cross-section of Trunk Groups, the user has access to different options of performance reports, such as hourly, daily and weekly. The user can also select the time interval to be studied and specify other parameters such as time-of-the-day or day-of-the-week to be studied.

SQL queries will be run against a dedicated data warehouse, and the resulting data is displayed for further manipulation and analysis. Information such as traffic in Erlangs, number of calls, overflow calls and available capacity can be ordered, filtered and exported to other applications such as excel or access.

A built-in Erlang Tool acts as a handy calculator for quick conversions and estimations. Results are also available in form of a report, containing all parameters used in the original query. This report can also be exported to other applications or e-mailed. NMT will also let you visualize end-to-end circuits, associating network resources to a particular flow or service. All Elements, facilities and resources used by the end-to-end route can be easily identified.
